Carlos Domingo

CV

San Agustín (Teruel), 1969.

His work reflects a clear interest in the relationship between human beings and nature: nature versus culture and its implications in the question of identity. With a markedly draftsmanlike character, it is developed from the formal synthesis between processes, materials and images of natural origin. He uses volume as a prominent resource, establishing conceptual and formal relationships to question the character of things through ambiguous forms, vaporous stains and blurred limits. He uses various disciplines to give format to his artistic creations: sculpture of manual invoice in small and medium format, painting and drawing, being the mystery the guiding thread of his work.

Carlos Domingo began his training in Fine Arts in Valencia, where he currently teaches in the Painting Department of the Polytechnic University, for which he holds a Doctorate in Fine Arts. He is also a member of the Art and Environment Research Center at the same university.
Since 1993 he has made multiple exhibitions at national and international level, with a coherent trajectory, deepening in a personal universe of images aimed at enhancing the viewer’s most reflective look.

His work has been recognized with the Premio Senyera de Pintura (2003), the Alfons Roig Creation Grant (2005) or the Premio Nacional de Edición del Ministerio de Cultura (2012), among others.

His works can be found in private and public collections, such as the CAM Contemporary Art collections, Chirivella Soriano Foundation, Museum of Teruel, Real Maestranza de Sevilla Collection, etc.
