Suárez’s geometric work is not a systematic inquiry into the possibilities of form. Nor is it an investigation of the relationship between play and form. His attention to geometry is related above all to a personal reflection on the scope and role of art in modernity. A reflection made from Andalusia, a peripheral place of modern culture, which has a strong weight of artistic tradition and which remains, in Suarez’s formative years, almost on the margins of the central concerns of modern culture. In these circumstances, geometry can be a catalyst for artistic training, because its formal rigor connects with tradition and its logic, with the rationality characteristic of the modern.

Suárez knew how to use this gateway between different worlds offered by geometry. But there is something else in him: a special sensitivity to the radical temporality that characterizes the modern.

His work is present in important museums such as Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (Seville), Museo de Arte Abstracto Español (Cuenca), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico City, Mexico), Patio Herreriano, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Español (Valladolid) or Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, and in various public collections such as Colección La Caixa (Barcelona), Colección Basf- Ludwigshafen (Germany), Fundación Juan March (Madrid), Colección Helga de Alvear (Cáceres) or Parlamento de Andalucía (Seville).
