“A la manera de…(III)”

When we first came up with the idea of the exhibition “A la manera de…”, we imagined that it would be really interesting, but it far exceeded our expectations. The commitment of the artists to the project, the quality of the works and their arrangement as a domestic collection, gave the exhibition a warm feeling.

This encouraged us to propose this second edition. New artists, more than forty, who have been involved to the core in it. On this occasion, there are some technical novelties: in addition to painting, sculpture and drawing, other techniques such as photography, video and ornamental arts have been included. Curiously enough, several of the artists pay tribute to contemporary Andalusian authors with their works.

“A la manera de… (II)” is intended to be a challenge for the participating artists. The proposals presented must emulate or pay tribute to the works of the artists referenced, authors of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries who are admired by these artists. It will be very interesting to see the approach of each one, whether formal or conceptual, or even both at the same time.
