Juan Olivares
Catarroja (Valencia, Spain), 1973.
His work is mainly framed in the pictorial abstraction, sometimes extending to the 3rd dimension. His painting is born from everyday stimuli, without an established hierarchy, being able to reveal at any time a flashing neon light, the shadows cast on a facade, a metaphor, a song … In this sense, the painting is very close to what happens, the flow of things.
He has had solo exhibitions in different parts of Spain and has participated in national and international exhibitions (New York, Brussels, Geneva, Paris, Rome, Shanghai), as well as in international fairs (Arco, Artissima, Miart, Artcologne, Shanghai Art Fair, ArteLisboa, Maco Mexico, Pulse Miami, Context Miami and Pinta London). He has obtained, among others, the Fine Arts Grant of the Academy of Rome and the College of Spain in Paris. His work is present in important collections: Ministry of Culture, L’Oréal Collection, Banco Sabadell, Olor Visual Collection, DKV Foundation Collection…
