Manolo Bautista

Artist born in Lucena, Córdoba (1974), he has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville.

His work, framed within the field of digital photography, is not at all virtual because there is nothing in it that is not reflecting or illustrating on the reality of the present, on what is happening around him.

Within the framework of visual saturation and mobile architecture that synthesize many of the reflections on the new conditions of specialty and simulation that accompany his work, he leads us along unexpected paths, sometimes free and whimsical, sometimes ironic or humorous, but always vigilant of this ambiguous society in which we develop our activity.

He has received numerous awards and grants, with recent stays in Berlin and Havana, and his work is present, among others, in the collections of the Cajasol Foundation in Seville, the Rafael Botí Foundation in Cordoba, the Bancaxa Foundation in Valencia, the Andalusian Youth Institute, the University of Seville, CAB (Caja Burgos Art Center), the Patio Herreriano Museum Contemporary Art Collection (Valladolid) and the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art (Seville).
